What This Site Does
Ohio requires 25/50/25 liability coverage, proof of financial responsibility at traffic stops, and SR-22 filing after certain violations. Finding accurate information about these requirements — and carriers who write policies for drivers in every risk category — is harder than it should be.
We built this site to solve that problem. We publish state-specific requirement guides, coverage explanations, and rate context for Ohio drivers. When you submit your information through our forms, licensed insurance agents in your county receive your request and compete for your business. This service is free to you — we're compensated by the agents, not by consumers.
We don't sell insurance directly. We don't rank carriers as "best" or "cheapest." We explain what Ohio law requires, what coverage options exist, and connect you with agents who can quote your specific situation.
How the Process Works
You read our coverage guides and requirement pages to understand what Ohio mandates and what optional coverages exist. When you're ready to compare rates, you fill out a form with your vehicle information, driving history, and coverage preferences. That information is transmitted to licensed insurance agents operating in your ZIP code.
Agents review your profile and contact you — typically by phone or email within 24 hours — with quotes based on your actual risk profile and coverage selections. You compare the quotes, ask questions directly to the agents, and choose the policy that fits your budget and needs. You purchase the policy directly from the agent or carrier, not from us.
If you don't want to be contacted, don't submit a form. All our requirement guides, coverage explanations, and state-specific content are available without providing any personal information. The form exists only when you're ready to request quotes.
How Content Is Researched
Every state requirement figure on this site — liability minimums, SR-22 filing periods, reinstatement fees, proof-of-insurance rules — is verified against Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles publications, and Ohio Department of Insurance regulatory filings. We do not publish a coverage limit, filing timeline, or fee amount unless we can trace it to a statute or official state document.
Rate estimates are derived from publicly available industry data, including NAIC filings and carrier rate sheets. We present rates as ranges, not guarantees, and include hedge disclaimers on every pricing section. We do not invent discount percentages, fabricate carrier programs, or cite studies that don't exist.
Content is updated when Ohio law changes, when carriers modify their SR-22 programs, or when state fee schedules are revised. We do not republish the same content with updated years. If a page references a specific statute or regulation, that citation is verifiable.
